Summer Reading and Gaming Update

Summer has made its entry with a thunderstorm. If you think by now I have completed Trinity Souls of Zill O’ll, that’s far from the truth. It might take me the rest of the year to complete at this rate. I checked my old saved file. I spent 112 hours on the game. On my new playthrough, I am only at 41 hours! The quests can be quite repetitive and redundant at times. Certain parts could have been trimmed for sure, which I will go into in more detail later. Like most people, I am not a fan of grinding, but in this game, you have to. Some of the bosses can get difficult if under level, even if you play on Easy mode. I remember reading a comment on Amazon, and I was shocked: the person said he “only plays RPGs” and found this game difficult because he could not get past the Reig combo in the Arena, where he does his lightning blast. He even said good luck, which made me smile.

I hope he wasn’t talking about this part because this was still early in the game!

I wonder if this person has bad reflex. Why not visit the Adventure Guild and start taking up quests to level up if he was struggling in this section? With that in my mind,I learned it’s not necessary to try to clear all the quests. It seems never-ending. Plus, each quest has a marker that indicates its importance. Right now, I am trying to focus only on the main quests to prevent burnout, which I should have done sooner. Some of the quests can go on for a long time.

Reading Update

I have a genuine respect for science fiction; however, it’s not my favorite genre–or maybe I should try to read more from different authors. I’ve been reading Dune, but I wonder if watching the movie would be a better experience than reading the book. I find myself looking up the glossary quite frequently when I come across a term I am not familiar with, only to find out that the author made it all up. The same thing happened to me when I was reading The Left Hand of Darkness. I plan to complete the book; however, it might take me forever since I am not on a strict reading schedule. Claymore, the manga, and Phantom of the Opera have been stealing the spotlight. I am so engrossed in its world that Dune has taken a backseat. The first few chapters failed to enchant me (I am nearing the end of Book 1). Nonetheless, there are some interesting concepts in the book that start spiraling inside my head.

That’s all I have to say for now. Until next time, have a wonderful day~
